Fly Fishing Off the Shore

Surf fishing is not the greatest thanks to all the sand bars out there while spinning for kingfish on the flats can be fun. Fly-fishing, on the other hand, is really excellent. There have been good catches of Bonefish at Medjumbe Island, found in the miles and miles of sand flats around the island. The main target species is Yellowfin Tuna and big shoals move in and out of the area throughout the year. Average catch is around 15kg, but some 35kg monsters have also been caught. Kingfish, King Mackerel, Sailfish and Wahoo are also landed frequently.

Stupendous St Lazarus Banks
